Why Options United?
The urgency to preserve life, to love our neighbor, is about individuals, our society and our nation as a whole. Of course, pro-life efforts have eternal implications. Options United leads with our highly efficient strategy: by reaching women before they are given false information and mislead into thinking it is no big deal to terminate a pregnancy. Our staff is trained and experienced to guide women to choose life for their unborn child.
As you know, most abortions are now done by online access, with no medical safeguards. We meet women during this decision process. Hundreds of time per day, with your help, we can intervene and save lives and assist women with accurate information. Since the Dobbs decision overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, the national the battle to defend unborn life has eased in some areas but dramatically increased in other states. In California, New York, and other states have passed ‘abortion sanctuary’ laws.
Your kind charitable gift to Options United is key to helping mothers and families to choose life.
Monthly giving is crucial: it provides a steady and reliable source of income, allowing Options United to better plan and budget our lifesaving program and initiatives.

Your company might match your charitable donations!
Check it out. Corporate matching gift programs are initiatives where companies financially match donations made by their employees to nonprofits, effectively doubling the impact of the employee’s contribution.
These programs are designed to encourage employee participation in charitable giving.
Some notable companies with generous matching gift programs include Microsoft, which matches up to $15,000 per donation, and The Walt Disney Corporation, which matches up to $25,000. Other companies like Boeing, GE, Aerospace, Gap, Johnson & Johnson, etc. offer substantial matching amounts, ranging from $5,000 to $20,000.
To participate in a corporate matching gift program, employees typically need to follow these steps:
- Donate to Options United.
- Request a matching gift form from your employer.
- Some corporations match your gift right away with a receipt; others ask you to complete and submit a form to Options United.
- Options United then verifies the donation and sends the completed form back.
- The employer then issues the matching gift to Options United.
Donating securities can be a simple and efficient way to give, as the charity can immediately liquidate the securities and use the full value for its mission.
- Capital Gains Tax Avoidance: Donors can avoid paying capital gains taxes on the appreciation of the securities.
- Tax Deduction: Donors can claim a tax deduction for the full fair market value of the securities.
- Portfolio Rebalancing: Donors can use the donation to rebalance their investment portfolio.
- Immediate Use by Charity: Charities can immediately use the full value of the donated securities.

What is a Charitable Gift Annuity?
A charitable gift annuity is a contract in which a charity, in return for a transfer of cash, stock, or other property, agrees to pay a fixed sum of money for the remainder of one or two beneficiaries’ lives.
12 Ways a Charitable Gift Annuity May Benefit You
- Provides an appealing alternative to CDs
- Guarantees income
- Provides partly tax-free income
- Lowers income tax
- Reduces capital gains tax
- Supplements retirement income
- Possibly saves tax on Social Security benefits
- Creates estate-tax savings
- Allows you to provide income to others
- Creates savings for nontaxable estates
- Avoids management responsibilities
- Supports a favorite charity
What Is a Charitable Remainder Trust?
A charitable remainder trust (CRT) functions similarly to an annuity with some key differences. You make a large donation to an irrevocable charitable trust. Depending on how it’s structured, you (or any beneficiary you name) receive a fixed percentage of the trust’s value annually. After a set period or upon the death of the last beneficiary, the remaining assets go to the charity or charities you choose.
For added flexibility, a donor-advised fund can be named as a CRT beneficiary, allowing you to support multiple charities or create a charitable legacy for heirs.
CRTs usually require a larger minimum contribution than charitable gift annuities—typically $250,000—but they offer unique strategic benefits.

Permanent law makes it possible for individuals age 70 ½ and older to make direct gifts to charity from their IRA accounts that do not have to be reported as income, AND that count towards their RMD’s (Required Minimum Distribution). Called a “Qualified Charitable Distribution, or QCD”, this provision is very popular with seniors who would like to make gifts to charity, but don’t want to increase taxable income.
It’s an excellent plan for itemizers and non-itemizers alike, since the QCD is not reported as a taxable distribution. QCD gifts must go to “public charities”. Under IRS rules a QCD can NOT go into a donor advised fund (DAF). Options United can accept QCD gifts.
